At ACG (American College of Gastroenterology, October 12 2026), 4 placebo-controlled trials of 267 patients were given ginger-based treatments for functional dyspepsia, long-running indigestion (of non- ulcer or other visible cause). The study showed Ginger did better than placebo on overall symptom response. The ginger application offered relief in symptoms such as fullness after meals, bloating, nausea and belly discomfort, according to the report.

However, the authors warn that not all ginger based supplements offer the same efficacy.

Ginger is believed to address certain digestive issues as follows (European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology):

  • Accelerates Gastric Emptying
  • Stimulates Digestive Enzymes
  • Reduces Gut Inflammation
  • Anti-Spasmodic
